Best hotels near the parks

Pop Century ran $238 to $288 on November 17 (the standard room was sold out) and $275 to $318 on December 8. You get 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry every day, the 7-day Lightning Lane booking window, free self-parking and free theme park parking. The Skyliner gondola goes to EPCOT's International Gateway and Hollywood Studios; buses cover Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. What it lacks is Extended Evening Hours.

Not for: five or more people. Rooms sleep four. The family suites at Art of Animation next door sleep six and ran $515 to $574 on November 17 and $610 to $705 on December 8. That is worth it only if the alternative is two rooms. Note the Skyliner closes January 24 to 30, 2027, when buses replace it.

The Polynesian ran $976 (resort view) to $1,049 (water view) on December 8. The Grand Floridian started at $983 the same night and was sold out on November 17. Both are on the Resort Monorail to Magic Kingdom and both get the full perk set, including Extended Evening Hours. The Polynesian's refurbishment is scheduled to end in late 2026; the Grand Floridian's covered entrance work runs into early 2027. Book the Grand Floridian only if you are eating at Victoria & Albert's.

Animal Kingdom Lodge makes the list with a condition: book a savanna view ($771 to $790 on November 17) or do not go. A standard room buys Deluxe prices at a bus-only hotel far from Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, and Jambo House rooms are under refurbishment through January 2027.

Disney extends its 30-minute early entry to a list of partner hotels, including Drury Plaza Lake Buena Vista, Hilton Lake Buena Vista, Hilton Buena Vista Palace, Holiday Inn Orlando, the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, the Swan and Dolphin, and Four Seasons Orlando. Most cluster around Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista, 7 to 14 minutes from the Magic Kingdom lot at 8 a.m. We did not price them for this guide, so compare them with Pop Century's all-in cost: off-site guests pay $35 a day to park at the Disney parks and book Lightning Lane only 3 days ahead.

Four Seasons Orlando is a luxury resort first: from $1,385 on December 8 plus a $55 nightly resort fee, valet only. It gets early entry but not Extended Evening Hours or the 7-day Lightning Lane window. Choose it for the resort, not as a park base.

Every Universal hotel gets Early Park Admission, up to an hour before opening at one park. Universal's rates on our two dates:

Cabana Bay has walking paths to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay, family suites for six, and $26 overnight parking. Stella Nova walks you to Epic Universe. Helios Grand has a private door into Epic but no Express, and costs about $130 to $270 a night more than Stella Nova on our dates.

Portofino Bay includes Express Unlimited at the two older parks (not Epic, not Volcano Bay). Universal sells that pass from $164.99 per person per day, so two adults with two full days at Studios and Islands recover much of the gap. For an Epic-heavy trip, it is the wrong hotel.

Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando on International Drive quoted $131.19 (AAA or AARP) to $159.99 on December 8 and $175.49 to $194.99 on November 17. It charges no resort fee, parking is $10 a night capped at $50, and a free scheduled shuttle goes to Universal if you book 24 hours ahead. Expect a clean room and pools, nothing more. Do not use it as a Disney base without a car.

Skip for a park trip: Hyatt Regency Orlando, a convention hotel with a $48 resort fee and $45 self-parking that was not bookable online on either test date; and Gaylord Palms, where the $45 resort fee and $40 parking add $85 a night with no Disney perks. Gaylord is worth it only for Christmas and ICE!, November 13, 2026 to January 3, 2027.

This list assumes theme park days. If you are coming for food, lakes and museums, stay in Winter Park: The Alfond Inn was $478.86 all-in for November 17 and is a short walk from Park Avenue.
