Universal's Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

From Universal's Portofino page and hotel policies, checked September 22, 2026:

• Your room key is your Express Unlimited pass. It is valid from the moment it is issued until the parks close on your check-out day, so arrival morning and departure day both count.
• With mobile check-in, the pass is added to your wallet in the Universal Orlando app.
• It covers participating rides at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure only. Not Epic Universe, not Volcano Bay, not separately ticketed events such as Halloween Horror Nights.
• You still need park tickets.

Same system, same dates, two adults, before tax:

Two adults buying Express for one day would pay about $400 at Universal's average value. So for two adults spending every day of the stay in the original parks, Portofino roughly breaks even on Express alone, and you get the harbor, the pools and the water taxi on top. Universal ties the benefit to the room key, so confirm when you book how many keys and passes your party receives; with four passes in use every day, the numbers tilt clearly in Portofino's favor.

The math collapses if you spend days at Epic Universe, a water park or away from Universal. A night before an Epic Universe day is roughly $430 to $490 of room for nothing ride-related.

Universal's policy page lists complimentary shuttle buses and water taxis to the CityWalk hub for the two original parks, a dedicated bus to Volcano Bay, and walking paths linking the Signature hotels to CityWalk, both original parks and the other Universal hotels. The water taxi is the pleasant way in; the walk is the reliable one.

Universal's Portofino page lists no walking path or dedicated route to Epic Universe, so ask the hotel how Epic transport runs on your dates. If you drive, Universal's $35 day parking is valid at both the Epic Universe lot and the main garages on the same day.

• Overnight parking: $36 a night self-parking, $45 valet, plus tax.
• Tax: 12.5% per night (6.5% state, 6% Orange County), per Universal's hotel policies. We found no separate resort fee.
• Cancellation: six or more days out, full refund; within five days, one night's room and tax.
• Early Park Admission: included, as at every Universal hotel, but published dates are short-range; on September 22 Universal listed dates for Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe only, through September 30.

Book it for a two- or three-day trip centered on Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, especially on busy dates when Express earns its keep, or for a family of four or more.
