Universal Express Pass explained

• Universal Express Pass: the Express queue once at each participating attraction, during normal hours. Sold for Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe and Volcano Bay.
• Universal Express Unlimited Pass: the Express queue as many times as you like at each participating attraction. Valid at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure only; Universal says it "is not valid at Universal Epic Universe or at Universal Volcano Bay".
• Universal Express Now: one Express entry to one chosen attraction in a set time window. It is offered "sporadically", only on the day, only inside the participating park, through the Universal Orlando Resort app. Miss the window and it is forfeited; it cannot be swapped to another ride.

Not every ride participates, so check the participating attractions for your date before you buy.

Multi-day Express is priced per day: a 2-day Express Unlimited for Studios and Islands from $147.50 a day, and Express for all three theme parks from $145 a day for 2 days, $125 for 3 days, $106.25 for 4 days and $88 for 5 days. Those are floors on select dates; on busy dates, expect more. Volcano Bay is closed from October 26, 2026 to March 31, 2027, so its Express only matters from April to late October.

Guests at three Universal hotels get free Universal Express Unlimited at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, the Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Royal Pacific Resort. It does not include Epic Universe.

Do the sum before you dismiss those hotels as expensive. For four people, Express Unlimited for Studios and Islands starts at $659.96 a day bought separately, and more on busy dates. On a two-day Studios and Islands visit, the included pass can cover much or all of the gap to a value hotel. Value and mid-range Universal hotels, including Cabana Bay, get Early Park Admission but not Express.

At Epic Universe your options are the 1-day Express (one use per participating ride, from $199.99), a multi-day 3-park Express, or Express Now when the app offers it. There is no Unlimited, and hotel Express does not apply. At $199.99 the 1-day Epic Express costs more than the $139.99 starting price of an Epic admission ticket.

Our view: at Epic, buy Express only on a day you know is busy and only if you have one day in the park. With two days there, standby plus an early start usually does the job. We weigh it in Is Universal Express worth it?

Universal Express is the more expensive product and the simpler one. There are no arrival windows and no booking morning: you buy it, walk to the Express entrance and use it whenever you like during normal hours. Disney's Lightning Lane Multi Pass was reported at $19 to $35 per person for early October 2026, but you book up to three rides with time windows and add more one at a time.

The closest Disney equivalent to Express Unlimited is Lightning Lane Premier Pass, reported at $179 to $399 a day and sold in limited numbers. Measured against that, $164.99 for two Universal parks with unlimited repeats is the better deal. Measured against Universal's own Early Park Admission, which hotel guests get free up to an hour before opening, it is harder to justify on a quiet day. • Buy it on a single Studios-and-Islands day in a busy week, or when you have one day and a long list. Unlimited earns its extra $40 over plain Express only if you will ride favorites twice.
• Book the hotel instead if you have two or more days at Studios and Islands and would buy Unlimited anyway.
• Skip it on quiet dates. Universal's ticket calendar is a decent crowd guide: late September 2026 was the cheapest stretch we saw.
• Do not count on it for Halloween Horror Nights. Express passes are valid during normal park hours, and HHN is a separately ticketed event.
