Universal Epic Universe

Every world has one headliner that will run the longest line. The rest are shorter rides, shows and play areas.

If you only ride five things, make them Stardust Racers, Mario Kart, Monsters Unchained, Battle at the Ministry and Hiccup's Wing Gliders. Dark Universe and the Ministry are the two most detailed worlds for walking around. Isle of Berk is the best area for families with young children.

Fyre Drill, the splash boat ride on Berk, is scheduled to close from January 25 to February 4, 2027. No other Epic closures were listed on September 22, 2026.

Epic Universe tickets confuse people because the rules changed after opening and still differ from the older parks. Here is what Universal's own store sold on September 22, 2026. Prices are per adult per day, before tax, and the "from" price is for the cheapest dates only.

• 1-Day Epic Universe ticket: from $139.99. Epic only, no park-to-park. The dates we checked ran $140 to $200.
• 2-Day, one park per day: one day at Epic plus one day at either Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure, from $131.50 per day.
• 2-Day with park-to-park on the second day: one day at Epic plus one day hopping between the two older parks, with the Hogwarts Express, from $161.50 per day.
• Special 3-Day ticket: one day at each of the three theme parks, from $99 per day ($297 total).
• 3- to 7-day park-to-park tickets: move freely between Epic and the two older parks every day. The 3-day version started at $147.33 per day, or $160.67 with Volcano Bay added.

Two practical notes. First, annual passes do not include Epic Universe. Universal's pass products on sale in September 2026 covered the two older parks and, on some tiers, Volcano Bay; passholders buy separate Epic admission. Second, Universal Nights at Epic Universe, a new after-hours event with limited capacity, runs on October 3, 17 and 24 and November 6 and 20, 2026, at $179 per person plus tax. Universal does sell Express for Epic in 2026, but only the single-use kind: one shorter wait per participating ride. Universal's Express page says Express Unlimited is "not valid at Volcano Bay or Universal Epic Universe", and the free Express Unlimited that comes with select Signature Collection hotel rooms covers only the two older parks.

Prices are steep. The 1-day, 1-park Express for Epic started at $199.99 on the store. On the dates we checked, it ran $210 to $250 per person, plus tax, for September 22 to 30, 2026, and $210 to $340 in October, with the peak on October 10 and 11. That is more than the park ticket on every date we looked at.

Participating rides listed on September 22, 2026: Stardust Racers, Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge, Mine-Cart Madness, Yoshi's Adventure, Monsters Unchained, Curse of the Werewolf, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Hiccup's Wing Gliders, Fyre Drill, Constellation Carousel, and the Le Cirque Arcanus and Untrainable Dragon shows. Dragon Racer's Rally was not on the list. For a family of four on October 10 or 11, Express would add more than $1,300 to the day. See the Express verdict before buying it.

On September 22, 2026, Epic Universe was scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., an hour later on both ends than Islands of Adventure. Universal hotel guests got Early Park Admission from 9 a.m., with select attractions in the Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Isle of Berk and Celestial Park. Universal listed early entry here from August 1 to September 30, 2026 and had not published later dates when we checked.

The park's night show, Celestial Goodnight, premiered on July 7, 2026. Its fireworks have been "temporarily unavailable" since about September 14 because of what Universal called a technical issue, with no return date given, so do not plan an evening around them without checking first.

That hour is the single biggest advantage of staying on site for an Epic day. The two newest Universal hotels, Universal Helios Grand and Universal Stella Nova, sit beside the park. Without early entry, arrive before the 10 a.m. opening and head to the headliner you care most about. Mario Kart and Battle at the Ministry are the usual first choices.

Epic Universe does not share the garages used by the older parks. Its parking address is 1001 Epic Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819. Regular parking was $35, tax included, on September 22, 2026, and a prepaid parking purchase is valid at all four Universal parks. Two perks that apply at the older parks do not apply here: free self-parking after 6 p.m. and the free-parking offer for Cinemark matinee guests. With three or more Universal days, yes, without hesitation. Epic has the newest rides, the most detailed theming and the fewest weak spots of any Universal park. The multi-day tickets make it cheap to add.

With one Universal day, choose on content, not novelty. Pick Epic if your group wants Nintendo, the Ministry of Magic and a park where everything is new. Pick Islands of Adventure if you want Hogsmeade, VelociCoaster and Hagrid's, and a ticket that costs a little less. With two days, the 2-day ticket that gives one Epic day and one park-to-park day at the older parks covers almost everything worth doing.
