- LEGOLAND FloridaA park built for children aged 2 to 12, in Winter Haven rather than Orlando. Buy online, check the calendar for closed weekdays, and do not bring teenagers.Read
- Discovery CoveA limited-attendance day resort with snorkeling, a dolphin swim option and unlimited food and drink. The price is high, but it includes more than any other Orlando park. It suits couples and families with children six and up.Read

- GatorlandAn alligator park on Orange Blossom Trail since 1949. Half a day, free parking, shows on a fixed schedule. The best value non-theme-park day near Disney.Read
- ICON Park and The WheelThe I-Drive complex around the 400-foot observation wheel. Free parking and free to walk around. With the wheel closed for maintenance, the combo tickets lose their point.Read
- Lake Eola ParkDowntown Orlando's central park: a 0.9-mile loop, pedal swan boats, a fountain and a Sunday market. The live swan flock is gone as of July 2026; the boats remain.Read
- Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American ArtThe world's key Tiffany collection, including his chapel from the 1893 Chicago fair, in a quiet museum on Park Avenue. $8, or free on Friday evenings in season.Read
- Harry P. Leu GardensFifty acres of botanical garden on Lake Rowena, ten minutes from downtown. Quiet, cheap and at its best in camellia and azalea season. The historic house is closed for now.Read
- Orlando Science CenterFour floors of hands-on exhibits and a domed theater in Loch Haven Park. A strong rainy-day pick with children under 12; adults without kids can skip it.Read
- Wekiwa Springs State ParkA swimming spring at a steady 72 degrees, 17 miles north of downtown. Cheap and genuinely beautiful, but you cannot just turn up: book a day-use slot first.Read
- Old Town KissimmeeAn 18-acre retro strip of bars, shops and fair rides on US-192. Unremarkable on a Tuesday; worth an evening on Friday or Saturday when hundreds of classic cars parade the bricks.Read

- EPCOT International Food & Wine FestivalTwelve weeks of small plates around World Showcase, included with an EPCOT ticket. You pay per dish, roughly $5 to $11, plus $6 to $17.50 a drink. Go on a weekday.Read
- Halloween Horror NightsTen new haunted houses, four scare zones and a Stranger Things lagoon show, on 49 nights. A separate ticket, priced by night. Without Express, go early in the season and be at the gate before opening.Read
- Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween PartyDisney's Halloween party ran 38 nights from August 7 to October 31, 2026, at $119 to $229 a ticket. Every date has sold out. If you missed it, here is what still works this autumn.Read
- EPCOT International Festival of the HolidaysFive weeks of holiday storytellers, food kiosks and the Candlelight Processional, included with EPCOT admission. The one thing to plan: a guaranteed Candlelight seat, via a dining package that opens October 14.Read

- Kennedy Space Center tours from OrlandoDriving yourself is cheaper for most groups of two or more and lets you stay until closing. A guided day trip makes sense if you have no car or no appetite for a 60-mile drive home at 5 p.m.Read
- Airboat rides near OrlandoAn hour on an airboat near Kissimmee costs about $49 to $64 and usually finds alligators. Just know where you are: the headwaters of the Everglades system, not the national park.Read

- Hot-air balloon ridesAn hour in the air at sunrise over the lakes and countryside around Disney, from about $325 a head. Worth it for a milestone, with a flexible day in reserve for weather.Read
- Tubing at Kelly Park (Rock Springs)A 25-minute float down a clear spring run near Apopka for $5 per car. The catch is capacity: 280 cars in the morning, 50 more at 1 p.m., and summer lines from before dawn.Read
- Pirates Dinner AdventureAcrobats and sword fights on a replica galleon in an indoor lagoon, with a three-course dinner. Great for pirate-mad kids. Budget for parking, drinks and the seat upgrades it pushes.Read

- Is the Disney Park Hopper worth it?Hopping costs the same per ticket whether you use it once or every day. On long tickets it is cheap per day; on short ones it is an expensive way to see a second park for a few hours.Read
- Is Lightning Lane Multi Pass worth it?Priced per person, per park, per day, Multi Pass is cheapest where waits are shortest. Run the numbers park by park and it is a clear buy at Hollywood Studios and a maybe everywhere else.Read
- Is Universal Express worth it?Express can erase most of a day's queues at the two older parks, but it often costs as much as the ticket. It pays off for short, busy visits; on longer trips, time and rope drop do the same job.Read
- Is Epic Universe worth it?On a multi-day Universal ticket, Epic costs almost nothing extra and is the best park in the resort. The price you pay is in line time: plan the morning around Mine-Cart Madness and the Ministry.Read
- Is staying on Disney property worth it?The perks are real but narrower than the marketing: free parking, a 30-minute head start and an earlier Lightning Lane window. Several non-Disney hotels get two of those three.Read
- Do you need a rental car in Orlando?A car is cheap to rent and expensive to park. Whether you need one depends less on Orlando than on where you sleep and whether you are leaving the parks.Read
- Is Discovery Cove worth it?An all-inclusive snorkel-and-lounge day is not cheap, but the package math is better than it looks: the 2-park add-on costs about the same as a single SeaWorld ticket.Read
