Universal splits The Wizarding World of Harry Potter across three theme parks. Hogsmeade and Hogwarts castle are in Islands of Adventure. Diagon Alley and Gringotts are in Universal Studios Florida. The newest land, the Ministry of Magic, is in Epic Universe, which opened on May 22, 2025 on its own site with its own parking.
That split decides your ticket. The Hogwarts Express links the two older parks, and Universal only lets you board with a park-to-park ticket. Epic Universe is never on a 1-day park-to-park ticket, so seeing all three lands in one day is impossible. The cheapest way to see everything is two days: one at Epic, one hopping between the older parks.

Waits are Queue-Times' 2026 averages of posted times, not a forecast for your day. They still show the pattern: two very long lines, Hagrid's and the Ministry, and two manageable ones.
Hogsmeade is the most complete Potter day. It has the two best rides (Hagrid's and Forbidden Journey), Flight of the Hippogriff for smaller children, the Ollivanders wand show and the Three Broomsticks. Diagon Alley is the best street to walk: the London facade, Knockturn Alley, the Leaky Cauldron and Gringotts, a coaster and dark ride hybrid that is gentler than it looks. The Ministry of Magic adds the newest ride, Battle at the Ministry, plus the Le Cirque Arcanus stage show.
Which ticket covers all three
Prices below are Universal's starting prices per adult per day, before tax, on its store on September 22, 2026. Real dates cost more; late-September calendars ran $125 to $155 for a 1-park day and $140 to $170 for Epic.
- One day, two lands: the 1-day park-to-park ticket for Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, from $179.99. It covers Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and the train, but not the Ministry.
- Two days, all three lands: the 2-day ticket with one Epic day and one park-to-park day at the older parks, from $161.50 a day. This is the cheapest complete Potter ticket.
- Three days or more: the 3-day, 3-park park-to-park ticket, from $147.33 a day, lets you move between all three parks every day.
- The trap: the Special 3-Day ticket at $99 a day gives one day in each park with no hopping, so no Hogwarts Express. The park-to-park special (from $119 a day, one Epic day plus two hopping days) does include it.
Annual passes sold in September 2026 did not include Epic Universe, so passholders pay separately for the Ministry. Full rules are on our Universal tickets page.
The Hogwarts Express: worth the upgrade?
The train runs between King's Cross station in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade station in Islands of Adventure. Because it carries you into the other park, Universal requires a park-to-park ticket or an annual pass.
On the September 2026 dates we checked, park-to-park cost about $55 more than a 1-park ticket for the same day. For a Potter fan that is the upgrade to buy: it gets you the train plus both older lands in one day. If nobody in your group has read the books, skip it and spend the day at Islands of Adventure alone.
Express, early entry and Hagrid's
Universal Express does not help with the worst Potter line. Hagrid's is not on Universal's Express list, and neither Express Unlimited nor the free hotel Express at Portofino Bay, Hard Rock and Royal Pacific works at Epic Universe. Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, Gringotts and the Hogwarts Express do take Express at the older parks.

The cheaper line-skip is a Universal hotel. From August 1 to September 30, 2026, Early Park Admission at Islands of Adventure included Hagrid's, Forbidden Journey, Hippogriff and Ollivanders, and Epic's early hour included the Ministry of Magic. Universal had not published dates after September 30 when we checked. Without early entry, be at the gate for opening and walk straight to Hagrid's or the Ministry.
Butterbeer, and where to get it without a ticket
Two 2026 guides put Butterbeer at about $9.49 for cold, frozen or hot. Universal does not publish food prices online, so check the board. It is sold at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade, the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley, and Cafe L'air de la Sirene in the Ministry, where a cart sells it under its French name, Bieraubeurre.
You do not need a park ticket to try it. The Universal Studios Store at Universal CityWalk sells cold and frozen Butterbeer, and CityWalk is free to enter. Self-parking there is free after 6 p.m. except on Halloween Horror Nights event nights and December 31. Order it frozen and share it: it is very sweet.
Who should not build a trip around this
- Families with children under 40 inches. Flight of the Hippogriff needs 36 inches; Battle at the Ministry 40; Hagrid's and Forbidden Journey 48 (Magic Guides' height list). Shops, shows and the train have no limit.
- One-day visitors who want Epic too. It cannot be done: no 1-day ticket combines Epic with the other parks.
- Anyone visiting February 8 to 19, 2027. Forbidden Journey is scheduled to close for those dates.
- Casual fans on a short trip. One park-to-park day at the older parks covers the two best lands. Add Epic only if the Ministry matters; see Is Epic Universe worth it?

Do you need a park-to-park ticket for the Hogwarts Express?
Yes. The train runs between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, so Universal requires a park-to-park ticket or annual pass. A 1-day park-to-park ticket started at $179.99 before tax on September 22, 2026.
How many Harry Potter lands are there at Universal Orlando?
Three: Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe, which opened on May 22, 2025.
Is Hagrid's included in Universal Express?
No. Hagrid's was not on Universal's Express list when we checked on September 22, 2026. Ride it at Early Park Admission or right at opening, or accept a long wait: its 2026 average was 105 minutes.
Can you see all three Harry Potter lands in one day?
No. Epic Universe is sold only as its own 1-day ticket, and the 1-day park-to-park ticket covers only the two older parks. You need at least a 2-day ticket that includes one Epic day.
Can you get Butterbeer without a park ticket?
Yes. The Universal Studios Store at CityWalk sells cold and frozen Butterbeer, and CityWalk has no admission charge. Everything else Butterbeer-related is inside the three Potter lands.
