• Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opened on May 26, 2026. It is the same launched indoor coaster, 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds, with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem in place of Aerosmith. It sits in Multi Pass's top group.
• Muppet*Vision 3D closed in June 2025. Its theater and the old courtyard are becoming Monstropolis. Disney's own page says only that parts open in 2027. The announced pieces are a theater show, a pizza counter, a table-service restaurant and shops. The Monsters, Inc. doors coaster is being built backstage and comes later; fan sites say 2028, Disney has not.
• The Magic of Disney Animation opened on September 14, 2026 in the former Star Wars Launch Bay building. It is a film, a drawing class with Olaf, character meets and two toddler play areas. It is a good air-conditioned hour with small children and skippable without them.
• Disney Jollywood Nights, a separate-ticket holiday evening, runs on select nights from November 7, 2026 to January 5, 2027. Check whether your date is one before planning an evening here.

Magic Kingdom spreads its crowd over 20 Lightning Lane rides. Here the crowd has six headliners and a set of stage shows, and shows do not need a line-skip. The result is that the second-tier rides queue like headliners elsewhere.

Our call: if you are not staying at an eligible hotel, buy both the Rise of the Resistance Single Pass and a Multi Pass here. Rise was the most expensive Single Pass at Disney World in September 2026 because it is the one people wait longest for, and off-site guests reach it 30 minutes behind everyone who got early entry. Use the Multi Pass top pick on Slinky Dog Dash, and the others on Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania!, which are not in the top group but queue as if they were.

If you do have early entry, you can drop the Single Pass and rope drop Rise instead. Premier Pass is hard to justify: at $269 or more a person it costs more than the ticket, for a park with six rides that need it. More in our Lightning Lane guide and the Multi Pass verdict.

Disney plans to run all six headliners during early entry, plus Toy Story Mania!, Star Tours and Alien Swirling Saucers. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Toy Story Land sit next to each other at the back of the park, and Sunset Boulevard, with the two thrill rides, is on the other side.

With early entry:

1. Rise of the Resistance. It is a 40-inch ride and the one with no Multi Pass option.
2. Smugglers Run next door, before the Galaxy's Edge crowd arrives.
3. Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land.
4. Use Multi Pass for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror later.

Without early entry: go the other way. Head straight down Sunset Boulevard to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror while the early-entry crowd is at the back of the park. Then use your Single Pass for Rise and your Multi Pass for Slinky Dog Dash and Runaway Railway. Leave Smugglers Run for the evening, while much of the park is watching Fantasmic!.

Heights to know: Slinky Dog Dash and Smugglers Run are 38 inches; Rise and Tower of Terror are 40.

Stage shows fill the gaps between rides, and they are the reason this can be a full day: Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, The Little Mermaid, A Musical Adventure, the Frozen sing-along, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. All of them are included with admission and play in large theaters, so arrive 20 minutes before showtime rather than booking a Multi Pass slot on them.

At night the park runs Fantasmic!, a water, fire and projection show in its own amphitheater, and Wonderful World of Animation projections on the Chinese Theatre. Disney lets you enter the Fantasmic! amphitheater up to 90 minutes before a show. Showtimes vary by date and it does not run every night, so check the app. For a drink with theming, Oga's Cantina in Galaxy's Edge takes reservations and they go quickly.

• Skip Premier Pass. See the math above.
• Skip Star Tours and Alien Swirling Saucers at peak times unless you have small children. Both rarely justify a 45-minute wait.
• Skip the Monstropolis walls. There is nothing to see yet, and no 2027 date to plan around.
• Do not lead with Runaway Railway. It is at the front of the park, so everyone does. It is a Multi Pass top-group ride, and it is fine at 5 p.m.
• Do not use a Multi Pass slot on a show. Stage shows appear in the second group, but the seats are there if you arrive early.

With early entry and Lightning Lane, you can ride all six headliners by mid-afternoon, then fill the rest with two or three shows and Fantasmic!. That is a full day, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Without Star Wars or Toy Story fans in your group, it is a half day. Ride the Sunset Boulevard coasters, Runaway Railway and Toy Story Mania!, see one show and leave. That is why it pairs well with a Park Hopper evening at EPCOT, one Skyliner ride away. On a four-day ticket (see our four-day plan), this is the park to put on the day you need a slower start, as long as you do not arrive late without a Single Pass for Rise. The Skyliner resorts, such as Pop Century, make that commute short.
