Aquatica Orlando

Aquatica has no single headline drop like Volcano Bay's Ko'okiri. Its strengths are variety and pools. Height rules are Aquatica's own.

Ray Rush, Omaka Rocka (flumes into funnels) and Reef Plunge also need 42 inches. Tassie's Underwater Twist and Whanau Way are open to smaller children, who must wear a life jacket under 48 inches.

The pools are the real draw. Cutback Cove and Big Surf Shores are side-by-side wave pools with no height limit, which Aquatica says you will not find anywhere else in the U.S. Roa's Rapids is a white-water action river, and Loggerhead Lane is the lazy river. For toddlers, Walkabout Waters and Turi's Kid Cove are the play areas.

The two parks answer different questions.

Pick Volcano Bay if it is already on your Universal 4-park ticket and you are visiting before October 26. Pick Aquatica if you are paying for a water park day on its own, if you are visiting in winter, or if you are already doing SeaWorld and can use a multi-park ticket. Volcano Bay dropped its TapuTapu virtual lines in October 2025, so it no longer has a queueing advantage.

Aquatica works best for three groups. Families with children between about four and twelve get the most from it: the wave pools have no height limit, the two rivers take everyone, and most of the slides open up at 42 inches. Groups on a budget get a full day out for $51.99 a head on most weekdays, less than half the price of a Universal theme park ticket on the same dates. And anyone visiting between late October and spring, when Volcano Bay is closed, has one fewer option to weigh.

Skip it if you are short on days and the theme parks are the point of the trip. A water park day is a rest day, and on a three-day Orlando visit it usually costs you a coaster day. Thrill seekers who have ridden Ko'okiri at Volcano Bay or Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach will find Aquatica tamer, even with Ihu's Breakaway Falls. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are the other two big options. They take turns closing for refurbishment, so only one may be open during your trip. Blizzard Beach is the home of Summit Plummet, a tall speed slide. Those pages have Disney's current prices and calendars.

For most visitors staying on International Drive, Aquatica is the closer and cheaper option. For guests staying on Disney property, the Disney water park that is open on your dates avoids a drive across town.

Aquatica's ticket store, on September 22, 2026:

• Single-day ticket: from $51.99, with the date chosen at purchase.
• Ticket plus All-Day Dining: from $86.99, meaning dining adds $35.
• Two-Day, Two-Park ticket: $100 total, any mix of Aquatica, SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Adventure Island.
• 2027 Fun Card: $114.99 for Aquatica alone, or $184.99 for SeaWorld and Aquatica, with the rest of 2026 included. Blockout dates apply.
• AquaGlow, an evening event, ran on select nights from May 15 to September 26, 2026, with tickets from $49.99. September 26 is the last night this season.

The multi-park math is simple. A $51.99 Aquatica day plus a $59.99 to $97.99 SeaWorld day costs $112 to $150 bought separately. The Two-Day, Two-Park ticket is $100. Using the prices on the parks' own stores on September 22, 2026, for a weekday in late September, before tax:

Children's tickets at Volcano Bay start at $75.99 rather than $80.99, which trims about $10 for two children. Even so, Aquatica comes out more than $100 cheaper for four people before anyone buys lunch. The All-Day Dining bundle makes sense if you plan to stay from opening to close and eat twice; if you will leave after lunch, pay per meal instead.

Prices move with demand. In October 2026 most weekdays stayed at $51.99 and Saturdays rose to $59.99. In December, the Saturday and Sunday before Christmas were the most expensive dates we saw, at $65.99. The cheapest days are also the quietest, so a weekday visit saves money and queue time at once.

Aquatica is at 5800 Water Play Way, Orlando. Its FAQ says parking "fluctuates seasonally, starting at $35 for cars and motorcycles and $38 for preferred." All-day self-service lockers are in three places: by Ihu's Breakaway Falls and Big Surf Shores, near Walkabout Waters, and at the main locker location opposite the Kiwi Traders shop. Cabanas can be booked in the app.

A simple plan: arrive at opening, ride Ihu's Breakaway Falls and KareKare Curl while the lines are short, claim loungers near the wave pools, and ride the family rafts before lunch. The afternoon is for the pools and the rivers. Summer and early fall thunderstorms clear the slides, so a morning start is also the weather plan.
