Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

The Resort Monorail loop stops at Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian and the Transportation and Ticket Center. From the TTC, a separate monorail runs to EPCOT. Disney also runs complimentary boats to Magic Kingdom from resorts on the lagoon and buses to every park.

Disney's transportation starts 45 minutes before park opening and runs until an hour after closing. For Magic Kingdom, this is as close as a hotel gets. For Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, you take a bus like everyone else.

• Early Theme Park Entry: 30 minutes early at every Disney park, every day of your stay, confirmed through 2027.
• Extended Evening Hours: Deluxe guests only, on select nights at select parks. Check the calendar for your dates.
• Lightning Lane: buy passes starting 7 days before check-in for the whole stay (up to 14 days); off-site guests wait until 3 days before each park day.
• Parking: overnight self-parking is complimentary at Disney Resort hotels, and standard theme park parking ($35 a day for others) is included. Valet is $42 a night plus tax.

Disney's rate page showed no separate resort fee; the prices above are room rate before tax.

Disney's notice on the rate page, checked September 22, 2026: renovations continue in select areas, including the covered entrance, through early 2027, and guests "may see or hear work during daytime hours." The Grand Floridian Cafe closed from mid-July through October 2026 for a refresh, with brunch moved to Cítricos. Other restaurants stay open.

The one thing no other hotel offers is Victoria & Albert's, now the only Michelin-starred restaurant on Disney property. Its prix fixe starts at $295 per person, and it books up; it is a reason to stay here for one night, not a reason to stay for five.

The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian share the monorail and the Deluxe perks at almost the same price. Both are under refurbishment, but Disney schedules the Polynesian's work to finish in late 2026 and the Grand Floridian's in early 2027. Against Pop Century, you pay about $700 a night more for the monorail and the setting. That is a lot of Lightning Lane passes.

Book it if the occasion is the point: a Victoria & Albert's dinner, a Magic Kingdom-heavy trip where you want the most formal hotel on the lagoon, and dates after the work ends. Book the Polynesian instead for the same monorail at the same price and an earlier end to the work. See is staying on Disney property worth it before you pay Deluxe rates at all.
