The Polynesian sits on the Seven Seas Lagoon across from Magic Kingdom, a stop on the Resort Monorail. On Disney's booking page on September 22, 2026, a resort view room for December 8 was $976 a night before tax and a water view $1,049. That undercuts the Grand Floridian by $7 for the same monorail and the same perks.
It is mid-refurbishment. Disney says some areas are being worked on through late 2026, including the front entrance roadway, that some views of the parks may be affected, and that Trader Sam's outdoor Tiki Terrace is closed through late October.

Getting to the parks
The Resort Monorail loop stops at Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian (and its Villas and Bungalows) and the Transportation and Ticket Center. At the TTC you change to the EPCOT monorail. Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are buses.
Disney's resort transportation starts 45 minutes before a park opens and runs until an hour after it closes. Pair that with early entry 30 minutes before official opening and the monorail is one of the quickest ways to the Magic Kingdom gate.
Disney asks guests to allow extra travel time arriving at and leaving the resort while the entrance roadway is being rebuilt.

- Early Theme Park Entry: 30 minutes, every park, every day of your stay; Disney says it continues through 2027.
- Extended Evening Hours: the Polynesian is on the Deluxe list; select nights, select parks.
- Lightning Lane: buy passes 7 days before check-in for your whole stay, up to 14 days. Off-site guests buy 3 days before each park day.
- Parking: complimentary overnight self-parking and included standard theme park parking. Valet is $42 a night plus tax.
Disney's rate page showed no separate resort fee. The prices here are the room rate before tax.
Trader Sam's and Dole Whip
The hotel's best-known feature is not a room. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto is the small tiki bar downstairs: open 11 a.m. to midnight, all ages until 8 p.m. and 21 and over after, walk-up only through a waitlist in the app. Its outdoor Tiki Terrace is closed through late October 2026 for the refurbishment. Staying here does not skip the line, but it does mean you can join the list and wait in your room.
The resort is also one of the places to get a Dole Whip without a park ticket.

The regular theme park view room was not offered on that date. Given Disney's own warning that some park views may be affected by the work, we would not pay a view premium until the refurbishment finishes.
Is it worth Deluxe money?
Against Pop Century at $275 the same night, the Polynesian costs about $700 more for the monorail and the lagoon. That premium pays off for a Magic Kingdom-heavy trip with small children who nap mid-day: the monorail makes the midday hotel break realistic. It does not pay off for a trip spread across all four parks, where you ride buses anyway.
