Dole Whip is a pineapple soft-serve made from a dry mix and water. Dole developed it at its technical center in San Jose, California, and it debuted at Magic Kingdom in 1984 as Dole Pineapple Whip. It reached Disneyland in 1986. Dole had become the sponsor of the Enchanted Tiki Room, next door to the Magic Kingdom counter, in 1976.
In September 2026 a cup costs $5.99 at Aloha Isle in Adventureland and the same at Pineapple Lanai at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Pineapple Lanai needs no park ticket, and it sells a version with rum.

Order the float. The juice cuts the sweetness and the soft-serve melts into it, which is how it tastes best on a hot afternoon. Choose pineapple, vanilla or a swirl; pineapple is the one people mean.
The Polynesian trick
Pineapple Lanai is a walk-up counter at the Polynesian, with no reservations, no mobile order and no park gate. The resort is on the monorail loop, so it works on a non-park evening or after a Trader Sam's visit. Trader Sam's itself puts Dole Whip in a cocktail, the Spikey Pineapple, for $17.50.
At Magic Kingdom, Aloha Isle does not take mobile orders either, so the only way through is the line. If it stretches across Adventureland, a Dole Whip is not worth 20 minutes of a park day; get it at the Polynesian that evening instead.
What is in it
Dole designed the mix to be non-dairy so it would hold up in Florida heat. The fruit flavors have been vegan certified since 2013, and Dole Whip is gluten-free. The vanilla and coconut soft-serve options are not vegan, so choose pineapple if that matters.
Disney does not publish nutrition for the cup. The commonly cited figure is 110 calories for a two-thirds-cup serving.
A 2026 note on Aloha Isle
In April 2026 Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit to install new signage at Aloha Isle. Disney has not announced a closure, and reporting at the time expected the stand to stay open during the work. If it is walled off on your day, Pineapple Lanai is the fallback. The same April 2026 report noted that Dole Whip has also spread to several other restaurants across Disney's parks and hotels, so ask at quick-service counters near you.
