Trader Sam's Grog Grotto

Open the app, search for Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and tap to join the walk-up list. The app checks your location, so you cannot join from another hotel or from a park. A guide updated in June 2026 advises joining within the first ten minutes of opening at 11 a.m.; later in the day it reports waits of more than two hours.

The practical plan: arrive a little before 11 a.m., join the list, and spend the wait at the Dole Whip counter. Once inside, nobody rushes you out.

Outside, the Tiki Terrace is a separate open-air bar with its own menu, open 11 a.m.–11 p.m. It does not have the indoor effects, but it is a decent fallback if the list is hopeless.

Zero-proof drinks such as the Skipper Sipper and Schweitzer Falls cost $6.50. Beer runs from $9.25 for Bud Light to $12.75 for a pineapple hard cider. For food, the Kalua pork tacos are $11.50 and the dumplings $12.

If you drink one thing here, make it the Uh-Oa! with a friend. Split, it costs less than two regular cocktails, and it is the drink that sets off the room.

With children, go at opening. They are allowed until 8 p.m., and the first hours are also when the list is shortest. After 8 p.m. everyone in your party must be 21 or older.

The monorail stops at the Polynesian, so it is an easy first or last stop on a Magic Kingdom day.

Two regular cocktails cost $33–$39 before tax and tip. That is theme-park pricing for drinks that lean on juice and syrup. You are paying for the room and its effects.

If the list is two hours long and you are not already at the resort, the better move is a Dole Whip float at Pineapple Lanai, a short walk away, with no wait list at all.
