Soseki is a 10-seat omakase counter at 955 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, run by chef Michael (Mike) Collantes. It earned a Michelin star in 2022, a year after opening, and kept it in the 2026 Florida guide. Tock lists both current menus at $342 per person, paid in full when you book.
That price has climbed. A Tasty Chomps omakase roundup in December 2025 gave $255 per person. Tock does not say whether the $342 includes tax or a service charge, so check the booking screen before you pay. It is open Wednesday to Saturday only, per the Michelin listing.

What you eat
A multi-course tasting that moves from small cooked plates into sushi, then dessert. Every guest is served each course at the same moment, so the start time is fixed. The menu changes with the season and leans on Florida ingredients. Michelin's inspectors single out the sushi: warm, vinegared rice and fish that is scored, sauced and garnished piece by piece. Past courses they mention include Scandinavian-style sashimi, a corn chawanmushi, and a foie gras and miso flan served with churros.
Dietary accommodations are limited and must be requested ahead of time. If you do not eat raw fish, this is not your table.
The rules that matter
- Prepaid and final. Soseki says all sales are non-refundable for any reason.
- Rescheduling needs at least 5 days' notice and costs $100 per person.
- Transfers are allowed up to the day of the reservation, so you can hand the seats to a friend.
- Arrive 15 minutes early. Courses are synchronized; a late arrival misses dishes.
On a vacation, the 5-day rule is the real risk. Book it for the middle of your trip, not the night you land.
The bill for two
Two seats at $342 are $684 before a single drink, charged when you book. Sake, wine or a pairing come on top on the night, and Soseki does not publish those prices online. A realistic evening for two with a modest bottle lands somewhere north of $800.
For context, that is more than three dinners for two at Kaya, or about sixty Cubans at Black Bean Deli. Soseki is the better single meal. It is not better value, and nobody should pretend it is.
Soseki or Victoria & Albert's?
Both hold one star. Victoria & Albert's is about four hours of European fine dining from $295 before wine, with a dress code and a harpist. Soseki is two hours at a counter for $342, with the chef in front of you. If you want ceremony, go to the Grand Floridian. If you want the cooking close up, come here.
For a cheaper night on the same street, The Ravenous Pig is a few blocks east on the same avenue.
Getting there
Fairbanks Avenue runs between I-4 and Park Avenue in Winter Park. It is a drive or rideshare from both the Disney and Universal areas, easiest via I-4. If you stay at The Alfond Inn near Park Avenue, it is a short rideshare, not a walk.
