Black Bean Deli

• The Cuban ($11): sweet ham, roast pork, Swiss and pickles, pressed on Cuban bread. No salami, no mayo, no lettuce. Tampa and Miami can argue; this is the Miami build.
• Pan con lechón ($11): slow-cooked pork, onions and garlic mojo with cilantro aioli. The better sandwich if you do not care about ham.
• Pan con bistec ($14): palomilla steak with crispy potatoes on the bread.
• Havana pork plate ($18): rice, black beans, sweet plantains and salad. Enough for two light eaters.
• Cuban frita burger ($10): Friday to Sunday only.

Add maduros ($4) and a ham croqueta ($1). For dessert, a guava pastelito ($3) or flan ($5).

All coffee is made Cuban-style with sugar unless you ask otherwise. A cafecito is $2, a double $3, a cortadito $2.50, a café con leche $5.50. A colada ($4) is four shots meant to be poured into small cups and shared; it is for a group, not one person. With the 7 a.m. weekday opening, this is a real breakfast stop on the way to anywhere north of downtown.

Two plate specials rotate through the week at $18: ropa vieja on Tuesday and masas de puerco fritas on Wednesday, fried pork chunks with the same rice, beans and plantains. If your schedule is flexible, Tuesday is the day to come.

Latin sodas are $3 and Malta is $2.50. There is a small wine list at $10 a glass and mimosas: $8 for one on weekdays, two for $10 at the weekend. Cuban bread pressed with butter is sold by the quarter loaf ($2) up to a whole loaf ($6) if you want to take some back to a hotel room.

Both have the same menu and hours. Pick the Winter Park one on Orange Avenue if you are pairing it with Park Avenue or the Morse Museum. Pick Colonial Drive if you are downtown or in Mills 50, where Kaya and Hawkers are nearby for dinner.

Neither is close to the parks; both are a car or rideshare trip from the Disney area. This is a local's lunch, so plan it on a non-park day.
