The Boathouse

Tours run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., weather permitting, and are sold first come, first served at the Boathouse boutique, not through the restaurant booking. At $125 for up to four, it is about $31 a person for 20 minutes. That is steep for a boat ride and reasonable for a photo nobody else back home has. Go early in the day on weekends, and expect cancellations when Florida's afternoon storms roll in. The Boathouse says prices can change without notice.

• Oysters ($4.50 each) or jumbo lump crab and avocado ($24.50) at the bar.
• Maine lobster roll ($37.50) with kettle chips: the best thing to eat on the dock.
• Dockside shrimp boil ($29.50): shrimp, corn, potatoes and andouille.
• S'mores baked Alaska ($55, serves four): the table-stopper, and the Boathouse's own signature dessert.

Skip the steaks unless you really want one. The 7-ounce petite filet is $60 before sides, which run $12 to $14. The same money buys a full dinner elsewhere at Disney Springs, or most of an 8-ounce Prime filet at Christner's.

The Captain's Sing Along Brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with crab cake Benedict, shrimp and grits and a Biscoff waffle. Kids' meals are $13 to $15 and come with a drink and fruit or fries; a souvenir amphicar duck cup is $15 extra. For a key lime fix, the key lime pie here serves two for $16.50.

The Boathouse is on the waterfront, so it fits naturally into the Disney Springs evening loop. Parties of six or more get an automatic 18% gratuity. If you only want a drink with live music afterwards, The Edison is the other anchor of the evening, and the Aerophile balloon is the other way to see the lake from an unusual angle.
